Hike to Clyde Lake
Uinta Mountains - Utah
August 2017
Nice hike to a mountain lake. On the way, depending on your route, you pass several other lakes - Cliff, Petit, and Watson Lakes. All nice, with good camping (backpack camping). Plenty of water, probably want to filter it, or bring your own. Elevation gain from the trailhead to Clyde maybe 800' ?
It is a decent trail, but recommend bring a map, and know how to use it.
It is easy to get off the trail in a spot or two. At the lake, there is camping there, or at the Three Divide lakes nearby. This is a popular hike for people and dogs, my dogs love it. Lots of travel on this trail. The parking at Crystal Lake trailhead can be full ( don't park where it says not to or you might get ticketed.) There is overflow parking about 1/3 or 1/2 mile down the road (i.e. a bit longer of a hike).
Start at the Crystal Lake Trailhead and follow the red trail on the map up to Clyde Lake. Clyde Lake has lots of small trout that are generally easy to catch in the summer months (how could you even get there in the winter?)
